When we acquired him, Gort really was actually in good shape...just needed a new fridge and port-a-potty.  He was road-worthy and liveable, but we wanted a lighter maple interior with a vintage flair, so a retro-fit was in order!  John remodeled the interior and had the exterior polished (see photos below!).   Gort recently appeared in the pilot episode of "When Creativity Knocks".  The filming took place this winter in Saratoga, CA.  Check out pics from the shoot below.

We named our baby after "Gort", the robot from "The Day the Earth Stood Still", on account of its remarkable resemblance to the robot's helmet!

Acquired by us in June 2005, Gort is an 18' Caravel with a rare rear seating/sleeping area, which really appealed to us.  Airstream registered Gort on April 18, 1969--and April 18 is my birthday!!!  So Gort was meant to be ours!
